How did the Caste System provide a Sense of Order to Indian Society?

   The caste system gave India a definite sense of unity. Everyone had a place where they would fit in. Everyone had people they could relate to. And of course, everyone had the same beliefs. Even the "untouchables," the outcastes could relate to other outcastes. So despite the overall unfairness of it, the caste system worked, and brought a sense of order to Indian society.
